Ginette Legaré’s solo exhibition, Running out of ink, presents a series of new wall-mounted works made out of discarded zip ties picked up during random walks and bike rides in urban and rural settings. In keeping with the artist’s interest in using diverse methods of speaking through discards and other environmentally dispersed opportunities, many trails and connections became allegorically available along the way. Her series of ink-deprived sketches alludes to moments seized and possible insights gained— wandering, looking, thinking.

The artist acknowledges the generous support from the Ontario Arts Council, an agency of the Government of Ontario, and the Centre d’artistes Vaste et Vague Residency program.
